Alive again!!!

Finally, we have a computer that works and internet is connected. I know all of you are sick and tired of seeing the block party pics. Long story short, we have moved to wynne, bought a dental practice, and things are absolutely crazy!!! i know ya'll mostly want to see pictures but there are a few things that need to be announced:
Auntie M is pregnant!!!!!!!!!! Carl's sister Mari-Gray and her husband Dewey are expecting an angel in March. We couldn't be more excited!!!! Also, my cousin Matt and his wife Libby are expecting their second little one in April. Something is in the water, and speaking of babies, we have some friends who are pregnant with their 8th kid... in 8 years. yup, you heard me right. it makes me tired just thinking about it.
ok, now to pics:

Juliann's 4 month birthday!!! She was in the 99th percentile in length and 75th in weight. I told Carl that we successfully reproduced a "freak of nature".

John loves his new playroom upstairs. he can keep his toys out especially his Thomas the train set. we are so blessed.
John got a trampoline from Pops for his 2nd birthday but since we knew we were moving we decided to wait to assemble it. We are the neighborhood hot spot for fun.

John started at his new babysitter's this week and is doing awesome. he never has even fussed when we dropped him off. now please pray for a sitter for Juliann. She won't be able to go here until she is older.

Block Party!!!

Last weekend our little church in Crawfordsville hosted a mission team from Gaither Baptist Church near Harrison, AR. They came to help us with a community wide block party on Saturday, help prepare for Vacation Bible School, and do some construction projects around the church. It was an amazing weekend. Their church is about the same size as ours and they brought 28 people. None of them had ever been on any kind of mission trip before. They were nervous that there wouldn't be enough to do. Boy, were they wrong. Their pastor shared a few words Sunday morning with our congregation. He said, "We thought we were going to be standing around and not have enough to do. Boy, was I wrong...you've got an ambitious little preacher here if you didn't know it!!" It was so funny!!

Woooooo Pig Sooie!!!!

The team pulled up carpet and tiled two classrooms and the hallway. The carpet had been there for like 25 years! uuggghhhh. They also made flower beds, power washed the building, and cut down old b-ball goals. I'm sure most of them slept all the way home. THANKS GAITHER!!!

3 Months Old

It is so hard to believe that our precious angel has been here for 3 months. She is growing so fast and doing more each day. (including pee peeing and poo pooing on the potty) She loves for you to talk to her. Her sweet face lights up and she smiles and coos constantly. It is amazing how your love grows when another child is born. You can't imagine loving another like your first until it happens. And just think how much more our Heavenly Father loves us. How deep and how long is love of Jesus Christ. Thank you Lord.

What a pair!!! I am going to start adding John's phrase of the day because he is saying the cutest and funniest things lately. Yesterday I was in the yard with him playing baseball. He hit the ball off the tee about 8 feet. Of course, I cheered when he stopped me and said: "No mommy, that bad hit!" He hit it again across the yard and I cheered some more. Apparently he has high standards for himself.

Campout

Last Friday night we had a campout and pitched a tent in the living room floor. John was so excited. Carl put the blow up mattress in the tent to sleep on. (who says camping has to be uncomfortable?)

Aren't they the cutest campers ever? John and Daddy slept in the tent all night. John was so wound up that it took forever for him to doze off. He had to have all of his blankets and books and pillow from his bed before he would go night-night. As the kids get older, I can imagine Friday night campouts will become a tradition. Of course, followed by pancakes on Saturday morning.

My First Fish

The weekend before last John caught his first fish. Hopefully it will be the first of many more to come. We were in Wynne so Nana kept Juliann so mommy could enjoy one of John's firsts. We went John's Lake. It is on some land that my parents own and are going to build a house soon. After they got it, they renamed it John's Lake (sorry Juliann, you weren't here yet.) John has his Cars fishing pole that Daddy has taught him how to use. They have been casting in the living room and in the yard for months. After a few tries to cast out far enough John finally made it, when all of the sudden... the cork went under. Carl helped him reel it in and John wasn't too sure what to think of it all. (we have it on video for those who would like to see it.) It was a pretty big catfish!!! What a fun memory. Carl wanted so bad for John's first catch to be at his lake. i am so blessed to have such a wonderful husband who is also an amazing daddy.

2nd Birthday!!!

On May 18th, John turned 2 years old. Wow what an amazing time it has been to watch John grow into a smart vibrant and loving kid. He has so much life and affection for all those he loves. We decided that a trip to the zoo would be the perfect b-day celebration.

Last week the kids from our church went bowling. it was john's first time and he has officially mastered another sport!! he had a blast and thought it was hilarious when mommy bowled fast. we'll have to go again soon!!!

FREE?

The other day while taking a walk enjoying the beautiful sunshine we saw this power wheels 4wheeler with a sign on it. I went to look how much they were asking for it. The sign said FREE. I knocked on the door to get more info and the guy said it worked fine, but it just needed a new battery and his son had outgrown it. So Carl went and got it and a new battery. Obviously John loves it. We let him loose in the backyard to get used to steering it.

Daddy's Big Turkey

Last Saturday, Carl killed his first turkey of the season. John was so excited to see Daddy's big turkey so of course we had to dress him in his camo gear and take pics. John even has his pop gun.

Juliann was 5 1/2 weeks old here. Some friends of ours got married and Carl preached the wedding. John had a blast dancing at the reception with this 4 year old girl.

This was taken last week when Juliann was 1 week old. She is growing and changing every day. What a sweet angel. I really felt so a couple of nights this week when she slept all night!!

OK, i now we are crazy but Juliann pee pee'd on the potty when she was 4 1/2 weeks old. We thought she was going to poo poo but we were wrong. I know some of you think we are crazy but John is proof that it works. :)

Bicycle built for two

Well, actually it's a stroller. This is our newest "vehicle". Everyone at me office went together and bought me a double stoller. I love it because John can sit on the bench or stand and ride. (hence the name sit n' stand). He can get in and out easily if there is something he wants to go see. Yesterday was nice so we took a walk. Juliann enjoyed the ride and eventually fell asleep. Today it is raining constantly so we are inside for the day.

What a weekend!!! We had a house full. Carl's sisters Cendi and Mari-Gray came in with Cendi's kids Connor and Hannah. Carl's cousin Patrick came over from Memphis with his wife and 2 kids too. We had a blast and off course they all got to meet Juliann. Here are some pics from the weekend.

22 and 2

This week marked John's 22 month birthday and yesterday was Juliann's 2 week birthday. It blows my mind how fast time flies. We took them both to the doctor for check ups. Juliann weighs 7 pounds 11 ounces which is great for 2 weeks. John is still in the 95th percentile on height and 50th on weight. I just try to appreciate every moment count my blessings. We are so thankful for everyday that we have with our children and try not to take anything for granted. John has decided that Juliann's bouncy seat is the most comfortable seat in the house.

Big brother is imparting wisdom to his sis or telling her how he will keep the boys away when she is older. It actually is so precious when he says "Hi, Juliann".

What a happy kid!! Mom found this shirt for him. It says, "That's it... I'm going to Nana's". Since she is called Nana it was perfect. We have family coming in tonight so be looking for more pics soon with cousins.

Hanging out with Daddy

Before getting ready for bed the other night Daddy and the kids had hang out time. Excuse the blue blanket Juliann is on. At home we use John's blankets because we only have a few pink ones. We are all doing great. John has gotten spoiled staying home with Mommy most days. I am enjoying being a stay at home mom at least for a little while (yeah, i am jealous of those of you who do all the time.) God is so good.

Let it Snow!!!!!

Last Friday we got our biggest (and really only) snow of the year. John absolutely had a blast. There was plenty of snow to make snow ice cream and of course a snowman.

Yeah, I know. Only in Arkansas can you have a redneck snowman.

Juliann enjoyed the snow from inside all bundled up. She is doing great. She sleeps a lot more than John did. It has allowed us to give him extra attention and ease the transition from 1 child to 2. He is so sweet with her. One of the cutest things is when she sneezes he says "bless you Juliann". Precious moments...

Birthday!!!

Juliann Grace has arrived. She was born Wed March 5, 2008. She weighed 7 pounds 3 ounces and was 20 inches long. She is absolutely beautiful!!!! Pictures really don't do her justice. She also was quite impatient. My induction began at 6:00 and the doc broke my water at 7:30, epidural at 8:30 and she was born at 9:28 am. None of our family had even made it to the hospital yet. It was amazing. John is doing absolutely awesome with her. He is a very proud big brother. We came home thursday and are doing great!! Enjoy the pics.

Well, this is pretty pathetic that this is the first blog since Christmas. Tomorrow is the big day. Carl and I are going to check into the hospital tonight and we will start the induction first thing tomorrow morning. I went to the doc last Friday and he said I was at 2cm and scheduled the induction. We are extremely excited to see little Juliann Grace. John is staying with Nana and Pops tonight and they are going to drive over in the morning. It is absolutely mind boggling to think that we can love another child as much as we do John. He is so loving and affectionate and he is talking up a storm. He amazes us everyday. We can't wait to see him interact with Juliann. OK now for some pics.

Merry Christmas!! Most of our fellow bloggers have probably given up on the Weatherfords because it has been so long. sorry, things have been crazy. first of all, on nov. 6 my grandmother "mimi" passed away very suddenly. it has been difficult, but God is faithful. please pray for Papaw and the rest of the family during Christmas time.

John turned 19 months yesterday. he gets sweeter by the day. he can count to 10 all by himself!!!!! that's like setting some kind of record right? we are looking forward to having some time off and lots of quality family time. i am extra excited about seeing my neice Hannah for the first time. i hope some pics of John add some Christmas cheer to your day. Happy Birthday Jesus!!!

Carl will be sending it out via email or mail if you like to keep our friends and supporters up on what he is doing and about new resources from outdoor ministry network. Get it? Posted... like posted hunting ground but we keep you posted?!! yea, it was my idea i must admit. Carl is also going to try to highlight different churches in Arkansas who are using OMN resources and beginning their own outdoor ministries to reach men. Our brother-in-law Dewey (top pic) is a PA in the US Army. He will be leaving sometime next week to go to Iraq for 15 months. Please pray for his safety and for his wife (Carl's sis) Mari-Gray while he is away. She is in Texas at Fort Hood where he is stationed. These pictures were taken earlier in October when we went to White Hall to see Dewey. It was his last visit to AR before he deploys. We are very proud of him. It's a......GIRL!!! That's right John is going to have a little sister. Her name is Juliann Grace. She is named after my Papaw whose middle name is Julian and Grace comes Gray and Ray other family names. We really are so excited. John even points to my belly when we ask "where is Juliann?" He is so smart!! We didn't really get any great pics at the doctor, she didn't want to cooperate at the picture taking part. We were able to tell that she is a girl and that everything else with Juliann looked great. They did mention that the placenta is a little low but we will check it in another month.

Last Saturday, our church had a booth at the Crawfordsville Harvest Festival. The weather was perfect and there was really good turn out. Carl and I had a chance to meet lots of people and a few were even at church Sunday morning. John had a blast. I tied the balloon to his pants so it wouldn't fly away but it better served as a locater to find him running around.

We gave away free ice cream at the booth and John was a huge fan. He is so sweet to give mommy a bite.(It was about to melt and go all over him so I was just helping :) After the festival John and I drove to Wynne for a surprise birthday party for Papaw. What a fun weekend!!

Splish Splash !!!!

Splish Splash John was taking a bath !! These are from a few weeks ago but they are just too cute not to show the world. John spent the day with Nana and Rosie yesterday. He couldn't understand why Pops wasn't there at her house. He, my brother, my Papaw and several other guys are pheasant hunting in South Dakota this week.
The countdown is on. This Friday is when we go to the doctor and find out what we are having. Tomorrow I will be 18 weeks along. Wow 4 1/2 months already. I have felt the baby move a few times this week. What a miracle each precious child is. What is your vote? Boy or Girl?

Fun with Gramma and Papa

Last weekend Gramma and Papa came for the weekend. They went to a wedding in Memphis on saturday and spoke about the Dixie Jackson offering at our church in Crawfordsville on Sunday. FBC gave over $130 for Arkansas missions. It was the first time the church had given since anyone could remember. Praise the Lord!!

They gave John some blocks with Bible images and characters on them. He already knows who everyone is :)

She's here!!! Hannah Lea Engram was born yesterday at 2:04 pm. She weighed 7 pounds 14 ounces and was 19 3/4 inches. Connor is gonna be an awesome big brother!!!

John is especially excited. He has a new cousin!! Hannah Lea Engram was born at 2:04 (Florida time) today. Hannah's mommy is Carl's sister, Cendi. Cendi and her husband Wes live in Tampa. Hannah is welcomed to the world by a great big brother, Connor. As soon as I get pictures of her I will post some. Children are a miraculous gift from the Lord.

Get it, from Annie. Tomorrow, Tomorrow, I'll love ya tomorrow. well never mind. Yes, John's daddy returns tomorrow. His plane gets to Memphis at 9:30 am. He will fly all night and hopefully sleep so he can play with us on saturday. John and I are great. He slept pretty well last night and woke up happy. When I dropped him off at daycare he got down and started playing. I left and he didn't even cry. That makes it so much easier to go to work. His teacher said that she was really tired yesterday because they rode in the wagon for like a hour and played in the gym a lot. Those are two of John's favorite things to do. He did get bit yesterday by a little girl. It's a good thing she only has two teeth. John had a little purple bruise on his shoulder. He told me that he wanted to bite her back but he turned the other cheek. What a little angel he is!!!!!

He's Back...

Well, at least back in cell phone coverage. Carl and Jae left base camp yesterday morning and drove all day. They made it to Anchorage late last night and unloaded the Caribou meat and all of their gear. He stayed at Jae's last night and will probably rest some today. He said that he may try to get an earlier flight to Memphis sometime Friday instead of Saturday which was the original plan. They were going to film some segments in Anchorage this afternoon and tomorrow. He asked me if I wanted to see him with a beard because he obviously hasn't shaved in a week and a half. I told him it would be kinda funny especially to see John's reaction to it. He said that he may need to shave it before they film the closing segments. I told him to at least take some pictures while he is a wooly man.
John and I are well. He slept pretty well last night, and therefore I did also. He was so happy and snuggly this morning. We ate oatmeal before we were off to daycare and work. What a sweetheart he is.

Back to Camp

I talked to Carl for just a second last night. The float plane was on its way to pick him up from their camping site. He sounded well and so thankful that everything went as planned. Since they finished a day early, I don't know if he will be trying to fly back early or not. I am hoping that he will send an email now that he is back at the base camp. Thanks for all of your prayers and concerns.

Alaska Update: I talked to Carl yesterday and they are doing well. Jae killed a Caribou on Friday and Carl got great footage. He said it took about an hour to pack it back to their camp. He said the site where they are camping is absolutely gorgeous. It is in a valley with beautiful mountains all around. So, yesterday it was Carl's turn to hunt. They headed to an area where they had seen Caribou from camp all week. It was near a creek. He said the fog has been fairly thick, so you could only see about 150-200 yards. They were hiking are all of the sudden (in his words) "muy grande stepped out of the fog!" Carl killed it with a rifle. He said it was awesome. Our phone connection wasn't great, but I did understand that they would be flying out today back to the outfitter's base camp. FBC Marion has a group doing a mission trip this week in southern Alaska. He had hoped to meet up with them before he heads back.

On the homefront: John and I are doing ok. We spent the weekend at Nana and Pop's house and went to church with them. John had lots of fun riding the tractor and the 4-wheeler. Pray for him to get rest this week. He hasn't slept well all week. He is cutting several teeth and can't rest very well. --

North Pole Bound

Alaska Update: Today Carl and his hunting partner Jae are flying into the hunting area on a float plane where they will be dropped off for 10 days. I spoke to him yesterday via satellite phone and they are doing well. He said the weather there has been crazy so the caribou are still more north than usual for this time of year. They may alter their hunting location because of it. Please pray that they find huge Caribou and for their safety. Carl will be filming Jae killing a Caribou with a rifle. If that happens, Carl will have a chance to kill one with a bow if they find enough. Jae is a youth minister in Anchorage, AL and has been an Alaskan guide for 13 years. He assured me that he hasn't lost a hunter yet!!!
Background: For those of you who don't know, Carl is working on filming hunts for an evangelism DVD that they will produce for Alaskan men. The Alaska Baptist State Convention has hired Outdoor Ministry Network to come film and produce the DVD. Carl is now working full time with OMN as the Arkansas Field Rep. He will be working with churches all over AR to train and equip them with resources to reach outdoorsmen. The OMN website is linked on this blog if you want to know more about the ministry. John has learned lots of new tricks lately. The most exciting one is....Being a Big Brother!! That's right, John's mommy is pregnant. As you can see by his face, John is so happy. He will be the best big brother ever. The baby is due March 12th which will put John and the baby 22 months apart. Oh the fun we will have!!!
